The Day a Guest Pastor Saw a "Pillar" in Me
Hey there, lovely souls! π
Today, I want to share a moment from my teenage years that still resonates deeply with me. It’s one of those memories that stays with you, no matter how much time passes. I believe it was God planting a seed in my life—a reminder of my purpose.
When I was 18, during a catechism class, we had a guest pastor named David who visited our church only once. His words that day have stayed with me ever since.
As Pastor David began to pray, he suddenly stopped mid-prayer, looking around the room as if searching for someone. Then, his eyes landed on me.
He asked if he could place his hand on my shoulder, and when I said yes, something truly unique unfolded. He shut his eyes and kept quiet for a moment, nodding gently. It was as if he was seeing or hearing something only God could reveal. I noticed his eyes moving beneath his closed lids, almost as if he was dreaming.
When he finally spoke, he said, "I see you standing like a pillar, with many people leaning on you, and more people will come to lean on you in the future."
At the time, it felt overwhelming. Me? A pillar? But in a way, it made sense, even then. I had already been someone others turned to in times of need, especially friends who were struggling with depression and even suicidal thoughts. I tried to be there for them, to offer love, comfort, and hope.
As the years have gone by, I’ve seen this prophecy unfold in even more ways. Whether it’s in friendships, family, or even strangers I’ve encountered, I often find myself in the position of offering support and strength.
This moment didn’t just happen for no reason. It was God’s way of nudging me, reminding me of my calling. And maybe, just maybe, this story will resonate with you. If you’ve ever felt like your life is insignificant or that you don’t have a purpose, let me remind you—God sees you. And He has a plan for you, just like He has for me.
Sending you love and blessings,
Jana
